OK, so it’s been a while between drinks! We wanted to change that so, welcome to our first newsletter (in a while). We know your time is precious, so we’ll aim to be as informative, entertaining and brief as we can.
So, what’s new? Ah, where to begin. Let’s start with the weather! Vintage 2023 is one to remember (or forget!). Wild weather & torrential rain wreaked havoc across Victoria increasing disease pressure and limiting the ability to look after vineyards ie: simply not being able to get a tractor anywhere due to soft ground & mud! Yields in some parts were way down, and others destroyed, however, some narrowly avoided disaster. The good news is we’re through it now and ultimately, we were lucky enough to get some great quality fruit and look forward to releasing these wines when the time comes (later this year for the 2023 Pinot Grigio).
On a more positive note, since we last met, we’ve added a string to our winemaking bow and ventured into the Mornington Peninsula to make some amazing, premium cool-climate wines. 2021 marks our inaugural vintage in this magnificent region and the wines are tremendous.
And finally, perhaps the BIGGEST news is the impending launch of our BRAND NEW ‘Cantina Club’ with first-round offers pegged for the last week of July.
